Have eaten at this delightful and very special historic inn in the Village of Grafton, at Ext. #487, off Highway 401, just east of Cobourg, Ontario, many times before and have always had wonderful meals and great service--no complaints ever! However, Friday, May 27, was a different story. Our party was promptly seated at a well set table in the main dining room and there was 1 other table of women in the room and a couple of diners in another room across the hall, so the place was not packed. There appeared to be 2 servers on duty at lunch. The food was impeccable and arrived promptly which was not the problem. The meal was spoiled by the surly, terse, unsmiling and unenthusiastic personality of our female server. Our group was quiet and undemanding so all 6 women mentioned how miserable our server was throughout the entire dining experience. It is a shame that one dysfunctional staff member can cast a pall over an entire dining experience which should have been a happy one. We left adequate tips, however, but feel the management of this delightful treasure of an inn is not being well-served by a staff member who is obviously unhappy with her job and seems to take it out on the customers. We would go back but next time we would ask for another server if this miserable lady were on duty again. Obviously some re-training of staff is needed here or perhaps, termination. This lady really needs to 're-think' her choice of employment at such a wonderful inn as this!!!!!!!!!!!!! She is doing a real 'dis-service' to her employer/s who pay her salary. Let's hope this was an 'off' day and not a sign of things to come. The owners deserve better than this from staff.

Serenity Bed And Breakfast was an oasis in the storm for me
I arrived in Brighton on a very hot day in July after a long week of business meetings and a long day on the road and the first two B and B's I went to were not air conditioned but then I found Serenity! It was air conditioned and had beautiful decor featuring famous Canadian artists, large comfortable rooms, a huge TV for my evenings entertainment, friendly hosts and most importantly as I found out the next morning fabulous food! Because they had a spa on site I was able to get a massage in the morning before I went and it made the next day a "Best Ever"! SERENITY made my day when I needed it most! Thank You Barb!!!

Great staff and service at Mike and Lori’s No Frills in Brighton. I would like to commend Sean for his outstanding service. I was looking for puff pastry today and there was none. Sean checked and it was on the back but he couldn’t get it until later. I told him I would get it tomorrow. I continued to shop and he found me and brought me the product! What service! Love the new layout too and the great prices!

We had Chris and his team paint our cottage inside and out and they did an amazing job. Chris recommended a specific paint for the exterior which has extended the life of the wood siding and made the cottage look brand new. He and his team completed the job in 2018 and it still looks wonderful today. Highly recommend C Turner Painting.

Personal, fast, honest, reliable - what more can I say? My laptop flat out refused to start up - I took it to the 'competition' and was told I needed a new one (this one was only 3 years old.) I was flabbergasted! I read the above reviews on Yellow Pages and contacted Country Computers. Next day, David had the laptop up and running and BETTER THAN NEW (it had never been set up properly in the first place!) To say the least, he has my business always. I highly recommend this business.

Purchased a propane fridge at the best price in the province hands down - better than straight from manufacturer. Their knowledge of product is amazing. Also purchased a mattress for our RV, again best price around- put that together with their small town friendliness - cannot beat that. We visited on a Wednesday night in early September and should have had reservations. This place is apparently always packed and it's not hard to see why. The food was excellent and the service very good (every one of the wait staff was fully occupied but each one either cleaned away a plate or asked how we were doing as they passed by). Portion sizes were adequate without being overwhelming. The desserts - wow - I *almost* licked my plate! However, my suggestion would be to expand the premises - there were so many people jammed into the small acoustically 'live' space that it was almost impossible to carry on a conversation. Aside from that one detraction I would definitely eat there again but would most definitely make a reservation for one of the outside tables.
